LeadAfrique International partnered with Sunny 88.7 FM for its 2026 Couples Retreat, under the theme “A Time to Reconnect, Refresh and Rediscover.”
The retreat brought together more than 75 couples for an intentional experience designed to create space for reconnection, reflection, meaningful conversation and renewed commitment to their relationships.
As part of the partnership, LeadAfrique International’s Co-Founders, Michael and Letitia Ohene-Effah, facilitated “Heartstrings,” a session that invited couples to look beyond the routines and responsibilities of marriage and pay attention to the deeper emotional connections that hold relationships together.
The 2026 retreat marked the fourth time LeadAfrique International has facilitated for Sunny FM, reflecting a relationship that has grown over time around a shared commitment to strengthening marriages and families.
For LeadAfrique, however, couples and family development is more than an occasional area of engagement. It is a major pillar of its work.
The facilitation of Heartstrings provided Michael and Letitia Ohene-Effah with an opportunity to bring their experience in leadership and people development into this intimate and foundational space of marriage and family.
Founded on the conviction that meaningful development begins with people, LeadAfrique works across children, young people, parents, educators, organisations and communities.
Its involvement in couples and family development reinforces an important dimension of this work: the development of people cannot be separated from the homes, relationships and communities in which they live.
When relationships are healthier and homes are more intentional, there is greater potential for children to thrive, communities to become stronger and societies to become more resilient.
For LeadAfrique, the experience reinforces a fundamental belief: leadership development does not begin only in classrooms, boardrooms or institutions. It begins much earlier in homes, relationships and communities.
By investing in parents and strengthening the family ecosystem, LeadAfrique is also investing in the next generation.
The partnership with Sunny FM therefore reflects more than a successful event collaboration. It represents a shared interest in creating intentional spaces where couples can pause, reflect, learn, reconnect and strengthen the relationships that matter most.
Alongside its broader couples and family-focused engagements, LeadAfrique International continues to develop people, strengthen relationships and create the conditions in which individuals, families and communities can thrive.
LeadAfrique International, developing people, creating impact.
